Silly Song Bird

Hendrix has started a new thing where everything is a microphone and he sings an unintelligible song into it. He's such a funny boy!

I hate Hendrix's allergies...

So we went to a friend's house today. They have a very lovable Boxer named Max. He loves kids and licked Hendrix all over his little face. Suddenly Hendrix started turning red and broke out in hives. Then the swelling started...that's when I started to worry. I called Hendrix's doctor and they said they needed to see him right away. Since I was about 45 minutes away from the doctor, they said I needed to head to Urgent Care because they didn't want me to drive that long and risk Hendrix having breathing problems. We gave him some Benedryl and rushed out. Thankfully by the time we got to Urgent Care, the redness and hives seemed to be subsiding but the swelling was still really bad. By the time the doctor saw him the swelling was also getting better. They gave me a prescription for some steroids for Hendrix for the next week and sent us on our way.

I don't foresee a dog joining our family anytime in the near future.

Halloween Fun

This year Hendrix was a bull in a china shop (okay, so he's always a bull in a china shop but for Halloween he looked like it.)We went to a Halloween Carnival at my friend Beka's house. I made Rice Krispie pumpkins

Colorado Trip for Matt's Dad's Birthday

A few weeks ago Matt's mom flew us home to Colorado to surprise Matt's dad for his birthday. It was a fun, short trip. We had family pictures taken, I'll post those soon hopefully (if I ever get them back from our photographer...)

20 Months and Somersaults

Hendrix is 20 months today!!! He started doing somersaults today, see video below. We went in for his 18 month doctors appointment(really late) earlier this week and these were his stats:

Weight 24: pounds 11 ounces - 20th percentile
Height: 33.4" - 60th percentile
Head: 19.2" - 70th percentile

It seams he's learning more words every day. Some of his newer ones are goofball, milk (mia-mia), gone, done, store, cookie, cracker (caca), dinner (deedee), eat, wow, woah, weeee, poo poo, wee wee, doo doo(because I tell him he's in deep doo doo), and shoe. I know there are more, just can't think of them right now.

He's still so busy and active. I recently had to give our entertainment center a face lift of sorts and took off all the handles to the drawers because he was using them to scale it like a rock wall! Jumping, dancing, swimming and somersaults are some of his favorite activities.

I think he's working on the terrible 2's! He's recently started a new fun thing where he chews up food, spits it into his hand and throws it on the floor. Spitting in general is one of his new tricks. He also hits, throws mild (so far) fits and in general doesn't listen to a thing I have to say to him! Boy oh boy, the next few years should be interesting!

Monkey Boy!

Yesterday Hendrix climbed all the way up a really steep slide that was about 8' long!!! He's part monkey I'm sure! Don't mind me at the beginning of the video, I have no idea what I'm doing!

Hulk Smash!

Hendrix does this funny little thing that we call "Hulk Smash!" He balls his fists up, strains his neck and kind of twitches. It sounds really awful but it's SO funny! Enjoy...

Practice makes perfect!

Today Hendrix decided to start practicing jumping into the pool, on our couch! He even plugs his little nose before he jumps in!

Captain Sassy-pants!

I know this is shocking but my child has a lot of attitude! We cut Hendrix's hair into a mohawk today and I was trying to get a picture of it. This what I got instead! All attitude and he seems to be saying, What the heck ma?!?!

My Little Fish and other Summer fun

Hendrix is fearless in the pool! Loves to be thrown in the air into the water!

We found a new flotation thing that is AWESOME! It gives him the security of the arm band floaties with out the constriction from the blow up kind plus it's got a piece across his chest for more added floating security
I found a peanut butter substitute that actually tastes like peanut butter and it was a huge hit! Here's Hendrix's first PB&J

First popsicle wasn't as much of a hit. He licked it occasionally but kept blowing on it as if it was hot and wouldn't eat it!

I had to show him how to lick it by really exaggerating sticking out my tongue so that's how he licked it too!

And just because Matt's now as proud as can be, Hendrix now says Yoda! It comes out a bit mixed up and usually sounds like "Doya" but you get the idea

Sad day! First band-aid

Today Hendrix was in need of his first band-aid. He pinched his finger and some of his hand in the closet door and ripped off some skin. Here's my poor sad boy! And I promise, he had calmed down and stopped crying before I took the picture, but he started crying again because he was mad that I was taking pictures.
