Drumroll Please...... We're Having a........

BOY!

We can hardly believe it! Matt was SO sure it was a girl that we were stunned when the ultrasound tech said BOY we just sat there and stared at each other! So Hendrix Kay Knell is on his way! And apparently he wants to be a big boy! He's already measuring more than a week ahead of schedule and they're talking about moving my due date up-hopefully now I'll be due BEFORE Christmas! Yeay!

As always Hendrix was being a stubborn little boy and didn't want to pose for pictures. He had his back to us-again, and wouldn't turn around. So this means, oh darn, I've got to go in for another ultrasound in a month so they can get all the anatomy pictures they need to get. Here are some of the pictures that they did get...
Here's the best profile she could get of him-this is the reason I have to go back in a month so she can get a clear image of his lip and check for a cleft pallet

I love this picture of his little hand waving at us!

And Yep, It's a BOY!

Debut of the Baby Bump, Kind of...

So I can't decided if I look pregnant yet or if I just look like I've packed on the pounds but I thought it would be a good idea to document it anyway! Here goes...

And just in case I look more pregnant from the other side...

Itchy, Itchy, Itchy!

So I went and had the heart monitor placed on me today. I'm so glad I've only got to have this stupid thing on for 24 hours! I've got 7 electrodes stuck to my chest, tons of wires and a lovely 5" by 3" black box strapped to a belt around my waist. But the worst thing is the lady at the heart doctor's office used super strong astringent or alcohol swabs or something on my skin to ensure that the electrodes remain in place for the next day. Grrr, now I'm so itchy and it's driving me nuts!
One good thing, I felt the weird heart feeling about an hour ago so I know they've got that recorded on the monitor and they'll be able to tell me if it's nothing or something serious. My guess is it's just nothing and all will be well.

Ack, I think my belly button is on crooked!

You believe that at 4 1/2 months pregnant, these are my abs right? ;) Anyway, aside from the fact that my belly button is getting more and more shallow by the day, I'm pretty sure it's crooked! So I'm still not really really showing yet but I'm starting to get that yucky vertical pregnant lady line down the middle of my belly. I'm a bit horrified by it but there isn't much I can do about it, so, whatever! But I can tell that the line goes perfectly down the center yet it cuts off at the far right side of my tummy button! It's apparently off to the left side of my body!! Speaking of belly, Palmer's Tummy Butter is the most incredible thing on the planet! When I'm feeling itchy and stretchy it's the only thing that makes me feel better! I feel like I'm basting myself because it really has the consistency of butter but I highly recommend it, two thumbs way up!

Will July 31st Ever Come?

So I went to my doctor's appointment today and was able to schedule the BIG ultrasound! On Friday, July 31st we'll find out if this little polka dot is a blue one or a pink one! Also, apparently this baby is trying to be a big one. When my doctor measured me today, she said I'm measuring a few centimeters too big-yikes! This appointment was very informative, I had a huge list of questions and she put my mind at ease about a lot of things and gave me lots of information about other things. For the past 2 months or so I've been feeling weird things in my chest, either like my heart was racing for a second, or it was skipping a beat or like someone was blowing bubbles in my chest. The doctor said I was having heart palpitations. This is common during pregnancy because I now have 45% more blood in my body than I did before. She's sending me to a heart specialist just to be safe. And lastly I got to hear the heartbeat again! It was great this time, she didn't have a hard time finding it, it was loud and clear right away and I recorded it on my cell phone so now I can listen to it whenever I want to! Yippee! Hooray for good doctors appointments!

Interesting and Mildly Disturbing

So I'm obsessed with trying to figure out what our little polka dot will look like. After seeing these pictures I'm not so sure I want to know!!! Supposedly these are a representation of what mine and Matt's child could look like. YIKES!

Hello...Can you say EARS?

Where did the Angelina Jolie lips come from?

Aparently I'm giving birth to a monkey?

Other than being quite ugly, this one is probably the closest to reality.

And the token white baby?

I Love My Husband!

Welcome to pour your heart out Friday! So I've discovered that blogging is a good outlet for me to express myself in ways I'm not normally able to. Warning, sappiness to follow...
I've just got to say that Matt is the most wonderful husband in the world! When my first marriage failed it was one of the hardest things I've had to go through. I have always been successful at everything I've ever done (sounds like an outlandish claim but it's true) and I don't like admitting defeat. I also really struggled with severe feelings of inadequacy because if I couldn't keep the attention of the ex and he strayed after just a few years then how was I supposed to find someone to love me for the rest of our lives and all eternity? And this was the point in my life when I met Matt. We started dating right as my divorce was finalized and I knew right away there was a huge connection there. It was so amazing to me that not only had I found someone who was willing to date a 25-year-old divorcee but he stuck by me through it all. He was willing to fight for me when I had my freak outs and wanted to break up he wouldn't let me throw our relationship away. He supported me as I worked to put the shattered pieces of myself back together. And he loved me through it all. His love is what filled the holes in my heart.
The day we said "I Do" was the best day of my life! (Actually, on a side note, we actually never said "I Do", he said "Absolutely" and I said "Without a doubt"! Love it!) Every day since then has been just as wonderful! Because of Matt I know what true love is. He has taught me what absolute happiness is and how marriage is supposed to be. I love him with all my heart and am so grateful to have him in my life!

The Name Game

We've pretty much already decided on a boy's name and a girl's name for our little polka dot. So it was quite surprising to me when Matt came home from work the other day stating that he'd come up with the perfect name for our little girl. The horrific name that he would like to name our girl is STARLA! Yes, you read right, Starla! He's a huge fan of the Smashing Pumpkins and that's the title of one of their songs. I told him the name was AWFUL and under no circumstances will any child of mine be named Starla. It reminds me of the body building he/she from Napoleon Dynamite! Yikes!
