I'm going to donate my milk!

My freezer stash of milk has now taken over my freezer. I've got nearly 850 ounces frozen which I'm not ready to use yet. Since the oldest milk is about two and a half months old and it only lasts for about three months in a regular freezer, I've started to look into my options. I've decided that the idea of having to thaw and heat the milk every time Hendrix is hungry makes me crazy because it's so much more work. I looked into donating my milk to a milk bank but not only do they make you jump through a bunch of hoops to donate-including getting doctors notes and exams and having blood work done-but they then turn around and SELL the donated milk which just doesn't seem right. I found a cool website http://milkshare.birthingforlife.com/ which connects women who need milk to women who want to donate milk. I've been in contact with a woman in San Diego who has a 3 month old boy whom she adopted and has been feeding him breast milk. She's got a whole system on how to get the milk shipped to her and within the next week, she'll be paying for me to send my milk to her.
I didn't think donating my milk would be that big of a deal but now that I've had contact with the actual person who will benefit from my freezer stash, I feel SO good! I'm amazed that I will be helping to not only sustain my own son's life but the life of a child of a complete stranger.

What a difference 2 years and 60 pounds can make!

After we had our family pictures taken yesterday, I was going through some old photos and I found a picture that blew my mind! It was taken 2 years ago on mine and Matt's 2 year anniversary when we were being sealed in the Denver Temple. At that time both Matt and I weighed about 30 pounds more than we do now.

First Haircut!

Hendrix is just over 2 months old and was already in need of his first haircut. It was getting to the point where it would just stick out, wouldn't stay in his faux hawk and was usually quite a mess so I decided to cut it. I've never cut hair before so it was quite an adventure and I was really worried that I was going to make a mess of it but I think I did a pretty decent job!
Here's some before pictures
And my handsome little boy after:
He wasn't so pleased that I was trying to get a profile shot!
This was how much hair I chopped off

And yes, I'm a weirdo and saved all the hair I cut off for his first haircut.

Laughter is the best medicine!

Hendrix is doing much better, he's taken his first cold like a champ! He's also started laughing which is so much fun! This morning he woke up laughing his head off. I was in the bedroom eating breakfast when I heard all kinds of giggling through the baby monitor! The most beautiful sound in the whole world!

Sick!

We've all caught something! Matt snores like a lumberjack because he's so congested. Poor Hendrix sounds like a little pig because he snorts constantly because of his congestion and I think I've gotten off easy so far, I'm a little stuffy and my throat is a little sore but nothing too bad. Hopefully this is something that'll go away quickly!

2 Months Old!!!

I can't believe my little guy is 2 months old already! He's 12 pounds 8 ounces and 23.75 inches long.

He's almost laughing-I cannot wait to hear those giggles! He's really strong. Hendrix has almost perfected the art of holding his head up and he'll stand up if you help him balance.
We love our little guy so much and it's so neat to see him discover the world!
