Starting to get ready for Hendrix's first birthday!

I just finished making this for Hendrix's first birthday and I'm so excited about it that I had to share!

And he's the smartest baby alive! He knows how to unscrew the legs on his toy and tries to get the screw back in and doesn't do too bad a of a job!

Step 1: Babble, talk, giggle and squeal because maybe your own noises will keep you awake

Step 2: Stand up in your crib and jump up and down as much as possible

Step 3: Throw everything out of your crib including blankets, stuffed animals and noise machines

Step 4: Once you have nothing left to throw out of the crib and you realize that jumping just makes you tired, take your clothes off and throw them out of the crib too

Step 5: When all else fails, scream bloody murder until mama comes to rescue you from the horrible confinement of the crib

Baby Blood Work :(

Today I took Hendrix in to get his blood drawn for his allergy testing and now I know why I've been puting it off for nearly a month. Poor little guy! He's so fat that they had a hard time finding a good vein on him and had to try both of his arms. He bawled his little eyes out but in all reality, he took it like a champ! He cried harder when they put the tourniquet on than when they were rooting around in his arms with the needle. Hopefully we won't have to have anything like that done again for a very very long time!

I think the expression on his face in this picture says it all. He's got a little light blue wrap around both of his elbows where they tried to get blood.

New favorite words are Yeah and Yes!

Funny little boy! He now responds to yes or no questions by nodding his head and saying yeah or yes!
