One Month Old!

I can't believe it, Hendrix is already a month old today! Where has the time gone? Next thing I know I'll be sending him off to college! I'd say that I want him to stay like this forever but I really miss my sleep!

Acid Reflux, Blanket Ninja and Lots of Pictures

I've been slacking on my blogging so this one might be lengthy!
This last week was pretty rough. Hendrix has been having a hard time, screaming a lot and refusing to sleep. Every time we laid him down he'd scream at the top of his lungs. He's been spitting up a lot and his hunger has been insatiable. I did some research and all signs pointed to acid reflux so I called and made an appointment with the doctor and I was right, poor little guy has reflux and has been in pain for the last week. We now have his crib propped at an angle, we've been putting rice cereal in his bottles to help thicken the milk so it stays down better, he has to sit up for at least a half an hour after feedings and he's been given a prescription for Zantac to help with the reflux. Last night was like having a whole new baby! He slept for 5 1/2 hours straight and has been so pleasant all day! Hooray! Also, as of his appointment yesterday, he weighs 10 pounds 1 ounce! He's gained over 2 pounds in the last 4 weeks-what a cute little fatty I have!
This is the crib propped at an angle-I don't know why this picture makes the nursery look so messy, it's actually quite organized right now!
I just thought Hendrix looked so cute in his lime green car seat with his matching lime green outfit!
I've got a blanket ninja on my hands! This is how he usually sleeps, tightly swaddled except for his arms which he insists be straight above his head.

One night, this is what I found, my little blanket ninja had squirmed half way out of his blanket.

And this is the little blanket ninja literally five minutes after the previous photo was taken-I have no idea how he managed to get himself completely unswaddled and off his sleep positioner in such a short time but he was not happy about it!

This is what we aim to achieve every night, we call it the milk coma!

This picture absolutely cracks me up!

And I'm a human milk factory! Matt calls me Bessie (yes, my dear sweet husband blatantly calls me a cow!) Not only have I been able to keep up with Hendrix and his huge appetite but I've got quite the surplus! I've got nearly 220 ounces (that's over a gallon and a half!) of milk frozen! At this rate I'll be able to stop pumping when Hendrix is 6 months old and he'll have milk for a full year! This picture doesn't do it justice, you can't really tell that there are 2 rows of frozen bags, not just the one row that you can see!

My Wonderful Husband...

My husband is the most wonderful man! Matt hasn't had much baby experience, in fact before I got pregnant, he always looked at other people's babies like they're aliens! It's been so wonderful to see him take charge and help out with Hendrix! It's come so naturally to him and I love watching Matt and Hendrix bond. I'm so lucky to have both of them in my life!

Cutest Girl on the Planet!!!

So my dearest friend Amy flew in from TN to help me with Hendrix and she's been awesome!! She's got the cutest stinking little girl on the planet and Gabi says some of the funniest things. The other day we were in Victoria's Secret and Gabi calls bras "Boobies". Out of the blue, Gabi yells out at the top of her lungs "I like black Boobies!" I laughed SO hard! Then today at Target, the guy who was ringing us up, who couldn't have been older than 20, had shaggy hair and big huge sideburns and I guess Gabi thought he looked familiar because she kept saying "Hey Jesus, ring this up Jesus!" as she was handing him things!! Luckily she had her binky in so hopefully he didn't realize she was calling him Jesus!

Randomness...

So sleepy, not much time to blog...here's some recent pictures, Hendrix will be 2 weeks old tomorrow!

I love this "Bad Hair Day" Onesie-it makes me laugh so hard!

A little Father and Son Time
This is how I found him sleeping one night-made me laugh my head off!
"The Cure Boys Don't Cry" Onesie-Think it'll convince him to never cry?
Sweet baby boy snuggling the burp rag!
Handsome Devil, Just Like Daddy

And I'd like to take a moment to brag...I went to the doctor today and got on the scale-in 2 weeks I've lost 25 pounds!!! Who would have guessed that pregnancy would be the best diet ever!! That means I'm 18 pounds below my pre-pregnancy weight. I took this picture when I was 1 week 1 day post partum, I think I look pretty dang good considering I had a c-section and am still pretty swollen-I'm even thinner now-HOORAY!

The Big Snip

I took Hendrix in to the doctor's office to be circumcised. Poor little guy! I was in the room when they gave him a numbing shot-his little cries nearly broke my heart! They gave me the option to be there when the performed the circumcision, I declined! If just the cries from the numbing shot tore me up, what would actually watching them cut at him do to me? I took these pictures as we were waiting at the office, he just looked so sweet and peaceful, little did he know what was ahead for him today!
Also, a side note for any future mommies of boys, check with your insurance before you let the hospital do the circumcision. Our insurance would have charged us a $750 deductable if we'd done it in the hospital but since we waited and did it at the doctor's office, we only had to pay the $20 copay.

I Love his chins!
Nom Nom Nom, I love my binkie!

I just thought this one was so cute, he's in the swing that his grandma and Aunt Shelley got for him, he just looks so little!
